He was raised by his mother, Barbara and two older sisters, Roxanne and Claire. He also spent tons of time with his grandparents, Irving and the late Jean Spector, and he still talks to his Gramps daily. Jacob first met his soul-mate, Kristi in 1988, and they ended up married on Sept 18, 1998. On the same lucky day, four years later, Jersie Rose, their only niece was born. These 7 people are the guiding force responsible for molding Jacob into the creative, caring, and hardworking man he is today, always teaching him to “reach for the stars”. Through his school years and even today, Jacob has always loved drawing his own characters and creating pages of poetry and other various writings, including song-writing. Working in restaurants since the age of 16, he put himself through private high school at C.B.H.S. in Memphis and at the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Children’s Literature and Art Illustration in 1995. After college Jacob worked in many well known restaurants before and after completing a second degree, this time in the Culinary Arts, from Johnson and Wales University in 1998. In 2003, he and his wife started Angel’s Food, a gourmet catering company nestled in the San Juan Islands. Magical Orcas Island, WA is where they have proudly called "home" since May of 1999. Angel’s Food For Thought was created in 2008 by Jacob, Barbara, Kristi, and Roxanne. It was formed with dreams and aspirations of “helping children develop an appetite to learn" and "raising funds for charity, through educational clarity."
